What’s better than a positively gorgeous day in the ATL with former rescues and volunteers visiting, playing with the dogs and catching up on the wrap-around porch? Yep — a happy tail! And what a happy tail this one is! So many of our senior and sanctuary dogs have been adopted by so many amazing people lately! We are speechless. Brooklyn has now joined them.
Laurie and Justin came out last Sunday with their beautiful 13-year-old Schnauzer, Max, after they saw Brooklyn featured on Susie’s Senior Dogs just a few days prior. We could tell immediately how loved and well cared for Max was. He looks great for his age and is very playful. Laurie’s sister-in-law’s sister tagged her in the post from Susie’s (the power of social media is amazing, as is Susie) and she knew they had to come meet Brooklyn.
Laurie and Justin lost their JRT to cancer last year and they were ready to add a new family member to their pack. Instead of looking for a very young JRT, they wanted to give a home to an older dog who needed them. (We LOVE those people!) They didn’t think twice about his medical history or that he may require some extra medical attention over the years due to his history of kidney stones.
Their meet’n’greet went perfectly! Both dogs were a little interested in each other, but knew when to give one another space, which is exactly what we look for during initial introductions.
Brooklyn will have such a great life, filled with walks and playtime in his huge yard. We couldn’t be happier for him and we are so thankful that this family chose him as their new baby 🙂
We are also so appreciative to Susie’s Senior Dogs for bringing them together and raising awareness for these special senior dogs!
