The third time really is the charm for this special boy—Joey has gone home … for good, this time!
This handsome boy has tried a couple of homes over the past year and a half, but things just never quite turned out. We discovered that, even though he absolutely adores other dogs, he is scared of children. That put him on the “no kids” list, which took a little longer than usual to fine just the right family.
New mom, Stephanie, has been following our rescue on social media for a long time, but she had been watching Joey closely over the past few months. She and her fiance’ recently moved into a house with a huge fenced yard, and they knew that the timing was right to give their gorgeous JRT, Stella, a brother.
Before they made arrangements to drive up from Florida, they also had one requirement of Joey: That he like cats. They have two. As you know, we don’t have cats at the rescue and, being that they’re Terriers, most of them see cats as prey. But, as you know, some of them absolutely love cats, or even ignore them altogether. We wanted to make sure everything was a perfect fit, so one of our awesome volunteers arranged to have Joey cat-tested at our vet. We all held our breath as we waited to hear how he did with the cats, and to our excitement, he passed with flying colors!
A week later, Stephanie, Bart, and Stella drove up to meet Joey, and it was love at first sight. Stella was the perfect match for Joey—so sweet, playful, and well-behaved. The meet n’greet couldn’t have gone better!
Joey is completely settled into his new life already—snuggling in bed, going to the beach, and finally having a permanent place to call “home.” He has already learned so much in his new home, and mom and dad couldn’t love him more.
