Are you ready for a bright spot to end your wind up another manic Monday? It’s been too long since we’ve been able to announce and adoption … and this is a fabulous one — John John has found his forever home!
Our handsome JJ arrived at rescue in May of 2015 with severe respiratory and sinus issues. It took several months and several experienced doctors (including UGA) to diagnose his mystery illness. After extensive tests, it was finally determined he had Pseudomonas. He received treatment and came through with flying colors, now only needing to have the vet check his sinuses during regular visits.
He was ready to roll, so we turned to the wonderful folks at Susie’s Senior Dogs to help us find his fabulous home. And, just like they have with so many of our other special seniors, the magic happened quickly.
Someone awesome saw him on their Instagram feed and tagged her friend, Taylor, who had just moved to Atlanta a few months ago from New York. Taylor is one of those rare but wonderful people who was proactively looking for an older dog to adopt. She saw the post, read his story and immediately submitted a glowing application.
JJ went home for a test, but it didn’t take long to realize they were a perfect fit for one another. He is now enjoying the good life he deserves, going for love walks and cuddling it up with Mom. Best of all, he’s close by, so we have already seen him again since he left. Yay!
Thank you so much to his sponsors, Susie’s Senior Dogs, everyone who helped network him and, of course, Taylor (and her friend) for finding him. It’s awesome when good things happen to great dogs.
