What a fabulous JRT Fun Day we had at the ranch Saturday with the Dogwood Jack Russell Terrier Club. All of the dogs (including some of our current and former rescues) had a blast participating in the lure course, steeplechase and barn hunt activities. Thanks to everyone for making it such a fabulous time.

Load 'em up and let 'em loose!

Penny was, once again, a winner ... and ready to go again! Put me in, put me in!

Donna "catching" Chuckie.

Stewie was back! Love this man ...

Mike cooling off another one of our brand newbies to rescue. This little girl is a warrior princess who conquered every challenge she took on, so we have named her Xena. Look for her profile next weekend.

Party on the porch!

Former GA JRT rescue Pumpkin enjoying the sunshine.

Bullet ... shooting out of the barrel ..

Saddle up these ponies!

Former GA JRT rescue Susie enjoying a little down time. We love this precious girl. She has come so far, too, thanks to her mom and dad.

Did we mention how Mavis ROCKED the lure chase? Zero to 60 in two seconds!

The ever-lovely Meredith Minkin of Canine PhD and board member of the club joined us this weekend ... and went all kinds of smooches on the dogs. Love you, lady!

Half of our fabulous Team Schwutke, chilling with their cutie and beauty, former GA JRT rescue Chad and the ever-popular Isis. Chad KILLED it in competing. It's amazing how far this once-terrified boy has come, thanks to mom and dad.

Georgia after her race with mom. Yeah, that's good stuffs!

Kiss the cook! Thanks so much to Kim for grilling us up some delicious grub. Also, thanks to the vols for donating the food. We made back our grocery money, plus a few tips for the rescues.

Kim, pimping the t-shirts ...

Georgia (middle), former GA JRT rescue puppy Pearl, is all grown up and beautiful!

Dogwood Jack Russell Terrier Club president Juston Thompson ... and proud papa of Maverick.

"Mom, do we HAVE to leave?!"

Georgia and mom enjoying some shade. We knew she would grow up to be beautiful; we just didn't realize HOW beautiful! We are so glad she made the trip from Florida to see us.

Andi (in pink) came out for the day with her foster family and brother, Boe, to say hello.

Boe (Andi's foster brother) wasn't sure what this barn hunt thing was all about, but once he heard the rats scurrying, he was game! No, don't worry, the rats are never hurt. They're actually very spoiled, protected and rewarded for this.

Buster hanging with the gang. His leg is still healing, but he's a fast little man!

Yes, yes, we know -- you WANT her. Sorry, folks, Deedle (aka Deeds) is the gorgeous daughter of two of our vols, David and Charlotte. She came out to enjoy the festivities ... and to take home her new brother, Clark! (Next photo, please)

This is Clark, Deedle's new brother, with his mom, Charlotte. He arrived at rescue a couple of weeks ago, just in time to meet Deeds. Miss D doesn't approve of everyone, but she approved of him and that was that! He never even made it to our page. He went home with mom, dad and sister yesterday and is settling in nicely.

Kim doing what Kim does -- pushing our dogs and events.

"Mom, do we HAVE to leave?!"

"Did someone say RUN?!" Flash did just what he does best ...
