We adopted Missy from Georgia Jack Russell Rescue in January of 2016. She was thought to be 8 or 9. We fell in love with her from the moment we saw her online. Then when we first visited the rescue and saw her peeking out from a corner of the kennel we were completely smitten with her personality. The deal was sealed when we got to play fetch with her that first time. She was boundless energy and love.
There are not enough words to describe Missy. She was a heart mender. Missy was the bridge that joined our first and second pack together
She was wise, strong, and a protector. A ball-obsessed girl and a good pack leader. She joined our first pack after a terrible loss, and she watched over our first pack leader (Tucker) while he convalesced and took on the role after his passing.
Missy was a warrior. She dealt with bad arthritis, impaired vision, and cancer. And, for the last 18 months of her life, CCD (Canine Cognitive Dysfunction). Through it all she remained the most loving nap companion.
Our sweet, loving and strong Missy earned her wings on August 7, 2023. She was at home in our sunroom, on my lap, and surrounded by her pack.
Missy was a huge presence in our lives and will be greatly missed.
