Zeus
Towards the end of the year in 2016, my fiancé, Patrick, and I decided it was time to expand our family and welcome a companion for our 4-year-old adopted JRT, Bailey. We didn’t know where we would find our new pup, but did know that we wanted to adopt, and that we both shared a love for Jack Russells. A Google search led us to Georgia Jack Russell Rescue, and soon after we completed an application and set up an appointment to meet the dogs.
It is obviously tough to choose from so many adorable pups, but after hearing about our dog Bailey, the staff at the sanctuary encouraged us to meet Zeus, who unfortunately was at the rescue for a second time after things didn’t work out with his previous family. Zeus was the first dog we met, and he and Bailey seemed to hit it off from the beginning. We fell in love with him, and decided then we had made our choice.
Months later, we couldn’t be happier to have Zeus as part of our family. From day one he was arguably more well behaved than our beloved Bailey, and took little to no time to adjust to our home and schedule. Zeus and Bailey love car rides, chasing squirrels, competing for tennis balls during a game of fetch, walks, hunting carpenter bees, and sunbathing on the back porch.
We want to thank Georgia JRT Rescue and Sanctuary for creating such a wonderful environment for Zeus and the other rescues to thrive while they wait for their forever homes. They truly care for each and every dog, even after adoption in the event things don’t work out, as was the case with Zeus’s previous family. We are so blessed, and look forward to many more adventures with Zeus and Bailey!
