Recap of March
March both came in and went out like a lamb this year … and we were thankful after a “ruff” winter … well, for the South, at least. We welcomed spring with a photo contest and an awesome chance to appear on TV … and we said goodbye to our special rock star, Jerry Lee.
Fling into Spring
Spring arrived early in Atlanta and, after another “snowmageddon” in January, we were more than ready for it. We “flinged” into spring with an online photo contest. We had conducted them before on Facebook just for fun, but we thought we would incorporate a fundraiser into this one and offer some great custom prizes as incentives. It was a smashing success, showcasing tons of great photos and raising more than $1,000 for the rescues
Rock On, Jerry Lee
We said goodbye to another one of our senior sweethearts on March 16 when Jerry Lee passed. He was close to Mama Donna’s heart for years and was a very special member of his “forever foster” family’s pack. He had battled a chronic heart/lung condition for years and was on medications, but that, of course, did not slow him down. He was every bit a Jack right up to the end. We are so thankful to Larry and Dede, who gave him the best life possible those final few months.
Terriers Invade TV
We were elated to appear on CBS’ “Better Mornings Atlanta” on March 28. This is a perk typically extended only to the larger/metro rescues, so it was an honor to make an appearance and share our mission and dogs. Diamond, Bert and Damon were all perfect angels, and it was great to be able to share their stories and ours with Atlanta.
