Recap of March
Spring always arrives with great anticipation at the ranch. The days get longer and warmer, and the dogs absolutely love the weather. We typically have a Spring Vol Day to remove the plastic from the kennels, but this year, we had an extra-special “fun day.”
Fabulous Fun Day
March was a super-busy one for us as we prepared for and hosted our first JRT Fun Day with Dogwood Jack Russell Terrier Club on March 21. It was an absolutely fabulous day, and we enjoyed not only watching their dogs practice for Steeplechase but introducing some of our rescues to the fun as well.
As if that wasn’t enough? We were blessed with a visit by Dogly co-founder Jane Turner and Georgia State Rep. Joe Wilkinson, who presented us with a $1,000 grant that our faithful supporters won for us on Dogly.
We had such a amazing day and vowed to do it again … and we did!
St. Patrick’s Day Dogs
Sometimes it’s just fun to dress up the dogs to get them “out there.” Nobody does it better than our volunteer photographer, Elisa Schwutke, owner of Heavenly Pet Photography, and her partner in crime, Kevin Schwutke. Together, this team not only takes amazing photos of the dogs, they also assess their temperament and test their social skills with humans and other dogs while they’re at it!
Oh, and … four of the seven dogs photographed that day have been adopted … and two were Eli and Elanor, so that doesn’t really count. Here’s to ye Flash finding ‘is perfect home this coming year.
