As summer started to turn to fall, we experienced a little bit of it all: Love, loss and the need to keep the flame lit.
Saying Goodbye – The Good and the Bad
September was another strong adoption month overall with Andi, Nog and Mavis all finding forever families. These are all wonderful girls who found wonderful homes, and we couldn’t be happier for all of them. Chopper, who survived a nasty yellowjacket attack earlier in the year, also found his awesome home with our friends up north.
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye-goodbye to two more of our beautiful sweethearts: Octavia and Jackson. Even though Octavia had moved on to a great forever home and we were somewhat prepared to say goodbye to her, that certainly didn’t make it any easier. Jackson was a complete surprise … and a total heartbreak.
Yankees for the Russell Rebels
As you know, we’re always looking for fun and creative ways to raise funds for the dogs, everything from auctions and contests, to promoting products. As we moved into fall, we tried something new this year with Yankee Candle fundraising. When shoppers used our special code 990084126, Yankee donated 40% of each order to our rescues.
